React JS gallery website
Countryside Landscape specializes in pool installs. They already had a website, but it wasn’t showing off the work they do, which is nothing short of amazing! When I sat down with the owner John and his lead designer Vince, it became apparent that we needed to use big visuals, and lots of them.
Let the work speak for itself definitely applies to their work and thankfully they had a ton of images of previous jobs to use. Letting the work speak for itself is great once we get the customers to the site, however search engines process text content so we had to careful to add enough descriptive text to the pages for seo optimization.
With big visuals in mind, I decided to incorporate a full-page zooming slideshow for the home landing page and designed a custom full-page image slider for the individual project galleries. To enhance the searchability of the site we added important search related text on the home page below the full-page slider. So that this information wasn’t hidden we linked to if from the main menu and implemented an auto scroll when the user clicks on the ‘pools’ link.
This website is a good example of using the right tool for the job. React was a better framework to use for development, it allowed us to use the React Spring library to implement the full page sliders and zoom effects.
